Weather wipes out pair of meets

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Tuesday’s band of storms and showers forced the postponement of two Schuylkill League track and field dual meets right before they were set to begin.

Tuesday’s Tamaqua at North Schuylkill meet was postponed at the last minute when the blustery weather knocked down a power line in the Cresswell Gardens section of Butler Township and knocked out power to Ghosh Orthodontics Field at Spartan Stadium. No make-up date for the Schuylkill League Division I contest has been announced.

The Schuylkill League Division II tri-meet among Nativity, Weatherly and Mahanoy Area at Mahanoy’s Alumni Stadium, which also included Lincoln Leadership, was also postponed at the last minute by weather. No make-up date has been announced.
