LEHIGHTON — Jake Yenser pitched six innings, allowed two hits and had nine strikeouts as Tamaqua shut out Lehighton 5-0 in a non-league baseball game Friday at Lehighton High School.

Yenser took over in the top of the second inning for starter Cooper Ansbach. Ansbach allowed one hit and struck out three in one inning of work.

Offensively, Noah Mateyak and Logan Morgans each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Blue Raiders (7-0), who remained unbeaten this season.

Ansbach added a hit, run scored and RBI at the plate for Tamaqua, which capitalized on three Lehighton errors on bunt plays. The victory for the Blue Raiders gives the Indians (7-1) their first loss of the season.
