HS Softball: Hurricanes’ game with Schuylkill Valley suspended

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Delayed by lightning and finally stopped in the fourth inning by rain and darkness, Schuylkill Haven and Schuylkill Valley played to a 2-2 tie Wednesday in a non-league softball game.
After Schuylkill Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Hurricanes tied the game in the bottom half of the frame. With one out, Teagan Wehr walked, and two errors loaded the bases. Joie Schoffstall hit a hard single up the middle to drive in Teagan Wehr and Ally Becker.
The game was delayed for 30 minutes due to lightning in the second inning then stopped in the top of the fourth with one out and Schuylkill Valley batting.
The contest was suspended at that point and will be completed at a date and time to be announced.
