HS Basketball: Schuylkill League sets basketball playoff schedule

The Schuylkill League unveiled the schedule for Saturday’s four basketball quarterfinals at Martz Hall following a meeting Wednesday morning.
Due to impending weather, the schedule was moved up earlier in the day, with the two boys’ quarterfinals going first, followed by the two girls’ quarterfinals.
Saturday’s schedule is as follows:
11 a.m. — Boys’ quarterfinal, Weatherly (12-9) vs. Minersville (18-3)
12:30 p.m. — Boys’ quarterfinal, Pottsville (16-6) vs. Tri-Valley (16-5)
2 p.m. — Girls’ quarterfinal, Lourdes (15-5) vs. Schuylkill Haven (17-5)
3:30 p.m. — Girls’ quarterfinal, Tamaqua (17-5) vs. Williams Valley (20-2)
The North Schuylkill and Marian girls and the Mahanoy Area and Nativity boys earned byes into next week’s semifinals.
The Schuylkill League girls’ semifinals will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Martz Hall, with the boys’ semifinals slated for Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Martz Hall. Championship Night will be Friday, Feb. 14, at Martz Hall, with the girls’ final at 6 p.m. and the boys’ final at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket Information
Tickets for all Schuylkill League basketball playoffs will be cash sales. There will be no online sales.
** For Saturday’s quarterfinals and next week’s semifinals, tickets will be cash sales at the door only. There will be no advance sales. Cost is $6 for adults/senior citizens, $3 for students. There is no senior citizen discount for the quarterfinals or semifinals.
** For Friday’s championship games, advance sales will occur. Advance tickets will cost $6 for adults and $3 for students/senior citizens. All tickets purchased at Martz Hall will cost $6.
** Schuylkill League passes (yellow in color) will be accepted.
** Schuylkill League Gold Cards will also be accepted.
Schuylkill League previews
T102 Sports Now will have preview capsules of the four quarterfinals posted sometime Friday. Also, T102 Sports Now beat writers Leroy Boyer and Eli Doyle and T-102 radio analyst John Powers will join forces to produce a Schuylkill League preview podcast that will air sometime Friday as well.
