POTTSVILLE — The Pottsville boys’ basketball team was on fire from 3-point range Friday night.

The Crimson Tide connected for 13 triples in a 67-42 non-league rout of ELCO.

Christian Alvarez continued his big week, hitting three 3-pointers for a game-high 17 points. He had 12 of his points in the first half as Pottsville built a 35-23 lead by intermission.

Ryder Bowers added 11 points and Letrel Montone tallied 10 for the Tide.

Mahanoy tops Marian

Mahanoy Area improved to 11-0 overall with a 67-53 victory over Marian in a non-league game in Hometown. The Colts dropped to 5-5.

In another non-league game, Hamburg downed Pine Grove 70-51. The Cards fell to 5-8 overall.

TAMAQUA — Millie Black paced a trio of double-digit scorers with 12 points as the Blue Raiders won their eighth straight with a non-league victory over the Raptors.

Lauren Ligenza added 10 points and Kendle Miller had 10 points and seven rebounds for Tamaqua, which used an 11-3 run in the second quarter to break things open.

MYERSTOWN — Keirra Jones scored a team-high 15 points as the Crimson Tide dropped a non-league game to the Raiders.

Myla Fegley and Jes Siminitus each added 11 poitns for Pottsville, which fell behind 16-6 after one frame and never recovered. ELCO hit 10 3-pointers in the win.

MANDATA — Ireland Kasper sparked the Vikings with a trio of 3-pointers as Williams Valley used a dominating run through the middle quarters to outlast the Eagles in a non-league game originally scheduled for February.

Sage Smeltz scored 18 points and Mallory Miller added 14 for unbeaten Williams Valley, which trailed 15-10 after one frame before outscoring Line Mountain 29-12 to build a 39-27 lead after three quarters.
