ORWIGSBURG — Cooper Leibold (121), Bryce Bodenberg (139), Owen Woll (160) and Bradley Renninger (189) went 5-0 to lead Blue Mountain to the team title Friday at the PM Gauntlet in the Eagles’ home gym.

Blue Mountain won all five of its dual meets: 70-6 over Sugar Valley Rural Charter, 60-12 over William Allen, 50-24 over Tri-Valley, 39-27 over Pleasant Valley and 60-13 over Valley View.

Tri-Valley finished second, with Pleasant Valley taking third. Sugar Valley placed fourth, followed by Valley View and William Allen.

Bodenberg and Woll had four pins apiece for the Eagles (6-1). Leibold added three pins.

Hunter Blankenhorn (172) went 4-0 with four falls for Blue Mountain.

T.J. Lazur (107), Keenan Hall (114), Brian Brobst (133) and Vaughn Helverson (285) posted 4-1 records on the day for the Eagles.

Tri-Valley won 4-of-5 duals to earn the runner-up finish. The Bulldogs (4-1) defeated Pleasant Valley (35-34), Sugar Valley (42-27), Valley View (50-21) and William Allen (59-12). The Pleasant Valley dual came down to criteria after the teams wrestled to a 34-34 tie. Tri-Valley prevailed due to a 7-6 advantage in bout wins.

Owen Wolfgang (107) sparked the Dawgs by going 5-0 with five falls.

Jaxson Bruso (133), Noah Hanlon (152), Parker Hatter (160), Hunter Updegrave (172) and Max Masser (189) posted 4-1 records on the day. Hanlon and Hatter had four falls apiece.

North Schuylkill advances 7
to Carlisle Tournament quarters

CARLISLE — Gaige Mentusky (107), Stanley Padakowski (127), Kaden Tavares (139), Nate Sterner (145), Jaden Meyer (172), Cadyn McGraw (215) and Sander Stokes (285) moved into the quarterfinals on Day 1 of the Carlisle Tournament.

Mentusky, Padakowski, Meyer, McGraw and Stokes won by fall in their second-round matches.

Those performances helped the Spartans rise to sixth place in the 21-team field with 45 points. Carlisle leads a close team race with 52.5 points. Palmerton is second with 52, followed by Garnet Valley with 51.5.

The tournament concludes today.

HAMBURG — Jack Krammes (152) and Xavier Dierolf (215) notched falls for Schuylkill Haven in a non-league loss to Hamburg.

Trayten Hasenauer (107) added a win by major decision for the Hurricanes (1-3).

Tamaqua crowns 2 champs

TAMAQUA — Tamaqua’s Kiely Kunkel (112) and Shayla Clay (190) captured individual titles at the Tamaqua Girls’ Wrestling Tournament.

Both Kunkel and Clay went 2-0 on the day with two pins apiece.

Jalissa Correa (124) had a 2-1 record for third place.

Lehighton won the six-team event with 166 points. Catasauqua (131.5) finished second, followed by Hamburg (67) and Tamaqua (36).
