Girls’ Soccer

Pottsville 1, Pine Grove 0, 2 OT — At Pine Grove, Jes Siminitus’ goal off a feed from Abbie Davis at 91:48 lifted the Crimson Tide (11-1 D-I) to a double-overtime Schuylkill League Division I victory over the Cardinals (7-5 D-I) at Cardinal Stadium.

Pine Grove keeper Alyssa Moyer made 11 saves and Pottsville’s Aubrey Scanlan stopped both of the Cardinals’ shots as the teams stayed scoreless into double overtime before Siminitus put home the game-winner.

Tamaqua 10, Marian 1 — Kim Rudy tallied two goals and had five assists as the Blue Raiders concluded their season with a convincing Division I victory over the Fillies.

Kolbe Robb had three goals and an assist and made three saves in goal for Tamaqua (4-8 D-I). Cadance Fannock, Avery Deitrich, Sophia Stellfox, Veronica Scott and Andrea Betz also scored for Tamaqua, which outshot Marian 44-7.

Esme Petschour scored Marian’s lone goal. Autumn Green had 25 saves in goal for Marian (0-11 D-I) while Scott and Robb split time in goal for the Raiders.

Blue Mountain 9, Shenandoah Valley 0 — Caitlyn McGhee had two goals and an assist as the Eagles rolled past the Blue Devils in a Division I match at the Eagles’ Nest.

Addie Warke, Alex Warke, Aileen Laux, Lexi Waschko, Hailey Scheuer, Kyra Moran and Julia Manbeck also scored for Blue Mountain (9-3 D-I), while Addie Warke and Gianna Chipriano each had two assists. Shenandoah Valley (1-10 D-I) was held without a shot on goal.

Williams Valley 2, Minersville 0 — The Vikings (6-4 D-II) clinched a Schuylkill League playoff berth with a shutout victory over the Miners (5-4-1 D-II) in Williamstown. No details were provided.

 

Boys’ Soccer

Williams Valley 2, North Schuylkill 1 — Cody Boehmer and John Rautzahn scored goals as the Vikings stunned the Spartans in a non-league game in Williamstown.

Boehmer scored just 1:49 into the game off an assist by Rautzahn before Rautzahn converted a penalty kick at 18:06.

North Schuylkill sliced the deficit in half when Brady Welker scored at 44:20 but couldn’t get the equalizer. Xzavion Tennis stopped six shots on goal for Williams Valley, while Kaden Onuschak had five saves for North Schuylkill.

Schuylkill Haven 3, Weatherly 2 — Luke Smith’s goal in overtime lifted the Hurricanes past the Wreckers in a Schuylkill League Division II game Tuesday in Weatherly.

Carson Auker and Grayson Fessler scored in the first half to give Haven (8-3 D-II) an early 2-0 lead, but Weatherly (2-10 D-II) tied the contest on goals by Vincent Paisley and Corbin Wagner.

Michael Davies made nine saves in net for Weatherly, while Gavin Wade stopped four shots in net for the Hurricanes.

Blue Mountain 4, Lourdes 0 — Shawn Batory had two goals and one assist as Blue Mountain shut out Lourdes in a Division I match at Shamokin.

Dylan Knittle and Troy Mady added goals for the Eagles (10-1-1 D-I). Robert Bowitz, Drew Waschko and Carter Jones added one assist apiece.

Caden Wargo made two saves to post the shutout in goal for Blue Mountain. Kyle Baranoski made 14 saves for Lourdes (4-5-3 D-I).

Blue Mountain won the JV match 2-0.

 

Girls’ Volleyball

Blue Mountain 3, North Schuylkill 2 — Jaedyn Bartholomew racked up 23 kills, 21 digs and eight blocks as the Eagles outlasted the Spartans 24-26, 25-17, 25-15, 21-25, 16-14 in a Schuylkill League Division I match moved from Thursday due to football.

Tess Krasny had 29 digs and two assists for Blue Mountain (8-6 D-I), while Casey Reed had 36 assists, 12 digs and three kills.

Brigid Flynn and Kyla Carado each had eight kills and combined for seven digs for North Schuylkill (2-12 D-I), while Lauren Powis had five kills and two blocks. North Schuylkill won JV 2-1.
