Wednesday, Sept. 18, roundup: Haven boys’ soccer team shuts out Minersville

Boys’ Soccer

Schuylkill Haven 3, Minersville 0 — At Schuylkill Haven, Carter Daniel scored two goals and Luke Smith added one as Schuylkill Haven topped Minersville in a Division II match.

Grayson Fessler assisted on both of Daniel’s goals.

Gavin Wade made six saves to post the shutout in goal for the Hurricanes (6-4, 5-2 D-II). Robert McGrath made seven saves for Minersville (7-4, 4-3 D-II).

Pine Grove 1, Blue Mountain 1 — At the Eagles’ Nest, Pine Grove and Blue Mountain played to a double-overtime draw in a Division I match.

Cale Lengle got the Cardinals (8-2-1, 6-0-1 D-I) on the board with a first-half goal. In the second half, Dylan Knittle, assisted by Shawn Batory, equalized for the Eagles (5-4-1, 5-1-1 D-I).

Caden Wargo made two saves for Blue Mountain; Peyton Renninger had seven saves for Pine Grove.

Blue Mountain won the JV match 3-1.

North Schuylkill 3, Pottsville 1 — At Pottsville, Fabrizio Manganiello netted two goals to lift North Schuylkill over Pottsville in a Division I match.

Brady Welker added a score for the Spartans, who led 2-0 at halftime. Gage Reidler, Max Helwig and Aaron Brayford notched assists for North Schuylkill (5-4, 5-2 D-I).

Juan Moreno, assisted by Michael Prestileo, scored in the 50th minute for Pottsville (1-7-1, 1-5-1 D-I).

Kaden Onuschak made five saves for North Schuylkill; Brody Hess stopped eight shots for the Crimson Tide.

Williams Valley 5, Weatherly 1 — At Weatherly, Cody Boehmer had two goals and two assists to lead Williams Valley past Weatherly in a Division II match.

John Rautzahn tallied two goals and one assist for the Vikings (3-6, 3-4 D-II). Ethan Lebo added one goal and one assist for the winners. Collin Burger had an assist for the Vikes, who led 3-0 at halftime.

Corbin Wagner, assisted by Alex Rosenlund, scored for Weatherly (0-7, 0-7 D-II).

Owen Mace made four saves for Williams Valley; Michael Davis stopped 11 shots for Weatherly.

Shenandoah Valley 4, Tri-Valley 0 — At Hegins, Sam Mentusky scored two goals to spark Shenandoah Valley past Tri-Valley in Division II action.

Joan Menjivar added one goal and one assist for the Blue Devils (11-1, 7-0 D-II). Kevin Gasca also scored a goal for Shenandoah Valley, while Dillon Teter and Derik Silva picked up assists.

Caleb Campos made three saves for the shutout in goal; Brayden Leese stopped seven shots for Tri-Valley (4-4-1, 4-3 D-II).

Shenandoah Valley won the JV match 2-0.
