Field set for Schuylkill League Golf Championships

A field of 60 boys and nine girls will compete Monday for individual and team honors when the Schuylkill League Golf Championships are held at the Schuylkill Country Club, Orwigsburg. Action gets under way with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
Division I champion Blue Mountain, Division I runner-up Pottsville, Division II champion Schuylkill Haven and Division II runner-up Nativity will compete for the Schuylkill League team championship, each fielding six golfers with the top four scores counting.
Schuylkill Haven is the defending team champion. Delaney Walborn, who last season played for Nativity, is the defending girls’ champion. Blue Mountain’s Luke MacDonald won last year’s boys’ title but has graduated. Returning golfers in the top six last season include Jude Maziekas of North Schuylkill, Talan Spittler and Connor Haag of Schuylkill Haven and Jobey Petro of Lourdes.
