POTTSVILLE — Pottsville opened the season by falling to Wilson West Lawn 25-21, 19-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-9 and to Boyertown 25-20, 25-22 25-23 on Saturday in non-league girls’ volleyball action.
Against Wilson, Anna Burke had 13 kills, six blocks and two aces; Rhyan Brennan added eight kills, two blocks and 12 digs; and Megan Yost totaled 41 assists, two kills, four aces and 11 digs for the Crimson Tide.
Against Boyertown, Brennan notched 12 kills, one block and seven digs; Lainey Dusel contributed six kills, two blocks and five digs; and Yost had four digs and 25 assists for Pottsville.
Lourdes 3, Shenandoah Valley 0
SHENANDOAH — Morgan Labosky had four kills, six service points, two aces and one block for Shenandoah Valley, but Lourdes topped the Blue Devils 3-0 on Saturday.
Also for Shenandoah Valley, Aubrie Monaghan added four kills and two assists; and Angelique Zamudio made 13 digs.
Shenandoah Valley won JV 2-1.
