The Tamaqua Area Marching Band gathers for a group photo.
The Tamaqua Area Raider Band kicked off its summer band camp in early July, diving into new music.
On Monday, July 29, the students began learning their field show, a process that spanned two weeks.
The band’s first performance was scheduled for Aug. 14 at the annual Meet the Raiders Night, but rain canceled the event.
The season officially starts at home Friday, Aug. 30, when the Blue Raiders take on North Schuylkill on the gridiron.
This year, the band is excited to participate in The Owen J. Roberts Band
Adjudication and The North Schuylkill Tournament of Bands competition, both taking place in October. In addition to these events, the band will be marching in various community parades throughout the Tamaqua area.
