In between raindrops last week, the T102 Sports Now Super 7 Softball Poll got turned on its head.

When everyone finally came inside to dry off Saturday evening, the rankings took shape. The new poll is a stepladder of sorts. Please follow along, we’ll explain.

The big results of the week were North Schuylkill’s 6-5 win over Pine Grove and Pine Grove’s victories over Greater Nanticoke (12-0) and Williams Valley (9-2) to capture the championship at its Cardinal Classic.

With that, Blue Mountain (5-1) took over the top spot, up from No. 3. North Schuylkill made the biggest jump, from No. 6 to No. 2.

Here’s the stepladder: The Eagles own an 11-3 victory over No. 2 North Schuylkill, which beat No. 3 Pine Grove, which beat No. 4 Williams Valley, which beat No. 5 Schuylkill Haven, which beat No. 6 Tri-Valley. No. 7 Tamaqua stays in the same spot by virtue of its 10-2 win over Pottsville.

Monday and Wednesday are the scheduled league days this week, but make-ups and non-league games are sprinkled in every day. To make matters worse, the weather forecast doesn’t look all that favorable.

We’ll take it day by day and see what gets played this week.
