HS Baseball Roundup: Schuylkill Haven, Mahanoy Area drop non-league matchups

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Jonathan Fessler went 3-for-3, doubled and scored a run as Schuylkill Haven fell to Kutztown 3-2 in a non-league game Monday on the road.
Alan Evans and Chase Yoder each had two hits for the Hurricanes. Yoder, a freshman, collected a pair of RBIs on a single in the top of the fifth inning. Talan Spittler pitched all seven innings and struck out eight for Haven.
Kutztown went up 3-0 after the bottom the third and the Hurricanes couldn’t muster up the runs to extend the game.

MAHANOY CITY — Mahanoy Area was held to one hit as the Golden Bears dropped a non-league matchup to Southern Columbia.
Levi Terry knocked in a run for Mahanoy Area on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning. Owen Ogrodnick had the Golden Bears’ lone hit.
