HS Track and Field: Mahanoy Area sweeps past Panther Valley

MAHANOY CITY — Urijah Fazio and Caylin Blashock each raced to two individual victories and ran on two winning relays to power Mahanoy Area to a 112-36 victory over Panther Valley in a Schuylkill League Division II girls’ track and field meet Tuesday at Alumni Stadium.
Fazio took first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while Blashock won the 800 and 1600. Lexie Chilinskas was also a double-winner for the Bears, placing first in the 100 hurdles and the high jump.
Morgan Orsulak (long jump, triple jump) was a double-winner for Panther Valley, while Naveah Ramos (javelin) and Brenda Banks (shot put) notched victories.

MAHANOY CITY — Sonny Seritti won three individual events as the Golden Bears outlasted the Panthers in a Schuylkill League Division II meet Tuesday at Alumni Stadium.
Seritti swept the hurdles events and also took first in the high jump. Jose Perez Figuereo won the 100 and 200 and ran on two winning relays for Mahanoy Area, which won 14 of 17 contested events. William Mayberry (800, 1600) was a double-winner.
Frank Shubeck (triple jump), Spencer Black (shot put) and Gino Williams (discus) notched field event wins for Panther Valley.
