HS Baseball Roundup: Blue Devils continue hot start; Wreckers notch first win

EAST STROUDSBURG — Brayden Maksimik, Chase McCole and Landon Monaghan each played a key part of Shenandoah Valley’s 16-0 non-league slugfest victory over Notre Dame East-Stroudsburg in three innings Wednesday on the road.
Monaghan was the starter and allowed one hit, and struck out five. Monaghan added a solo home run at the plate in the top of the third inning as part of a 12-hit display by the Blue Devils.
Chase McCole doubled in all three appearances and drove in five runs for Shenandoah Valley (3-0), while Brayden Maksimik went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
Johnny Burke went 2-for-3 with a double, drove in a run and scored one for the Blue Devils. Haden Kechula also added a double and a run scored.
Shenandoah Valley takes on Tri-Valley (2-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Del Hauck Field in Minersville in the second game of the annual Rothermel Tournament. The Battlin’ Miners (1-0) play Panther Valley (0-0) in Saturday’s first game at noon.
Weatherly 17, Lincoln Leadership 2
ALLENTOWN — Jeremiah Donadi went 3-for-4, doubled, scored a run and drove in four as Weatherly rolled past Lincoln Leadership in three innings in a non-league game.
Raymond Montz walked twice, had two hits in two appearances, collected three RBIs for the Wreckers. Kameron Jacoby added two runs scored and three RBIs for Weatherly, while Trent Heggins chipped in two RBIs.
