HS Basketball: Schuylkill League basketball playoffs to resume Tuesday

Schuylkill League officials played their cards right Saturday and were able to get the four boys’ and girls’ basketball quarterfinals in the books before the messy weather hit.

They’re hoping for the same success vs. Mother Nature this week.

The Schuylkill League Basketball Playoffs are set to resume Tuesday with girls’ semifinal action at Martz Hall. The boys’ semifinals are slated to follow Wednesday at Martz Hall, with Championship Night set for Friday at Martz Hall. The girls’ championship game will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ final at 7:30 p.m.

Here’s the schedule for the next two days:

TUESDAY

Girls’ Semifinals at Martz Hall

6 p.m. — Schuylkill Haven (18-5) vs. Marian (20-2)

7:30 p.m. — Tamaqua (18-5) vs. North Schuylkill (17-5)

WEDNESDAY

Boys’ Semifinals at Martz Hall

6 p.m. — Minersville (20-3) vs. Nativity (14-8)

7:30 p.m. — Pottsville (17-6) vs. Mahanoy Area (20-2)

All four Schuylkill League semifinal games will be simulcast live on WPPA (1360 AM/105.9 FM) and T-102 (101.9 FM). You can access those broadcasts by clicking on the link buttons located at the top right-hand corner of the T102SportsNow.com home page.

Capsule previews for the girls’ semifinals will appear Tuesday morning, with boys’ capsules going live Wednesday morning.

Inclement weather is predicted for a couple of days this week and may impact the Schuylkill League playoffs. Stay tuned to T102SportsNow.com and our social media platforms for any changes in date, time and location of the Schuylkill League basketball playoff games.

Ticket Information

Tickets for all Schuylkill League basketball playoffs will be cash sales. There will be no online sales.

** For this week’s semifinals, tickets will be cash sales at the door only. There will be no advance sales. Cost is $6 for adults/senior citizens, $3 for students. There is no senior citizen discount for the quarterfinals or semifinals.

** For Friday’s championship games, advance sales will occur. Advance tickets will cost $6 for adults and $3 for students/senior citizens. All tickets purchased at Martz Hall will cost $6.

** Schuylkill League passes (yellow in color) will be accepted.

** Schuylkill League Gold Cards will also be accepted.
