HS Basketball Roundup: Lourdes girls rebound, Viking boys fall in OT

MIFFLINBURG — Hannah Lokitis notched a double-double as Lourdes rebounded from Saturday’s Schuylkill League playoff loss with a 42-25 victory over Class 4A Mifflinburg in a non-league girls’ basketball game Monday night.

Lokitis collected 14 points and 13 rebounds for Lourdes, which will be the top seed in the District 4 Class A playoffs and have a home game to open the tournament.

Kylla Sandri added 11 points and four steals for the Red Raiders, who opened the game on a 14-5 run and then closed the game on an 11-4 spurt.

WEATHERLY — Kelly Reiner scored a team-high 14 points as the Wreckers wrapped up the regular season with a non-league loss Monday to Lincoln Leadership.

Bria Kringe hit four 3-pointers and had 18 points for Lincoln Leadership, which will play Williams Valley in the District 11 Class AA semifinals.

ALLENTOWN — The Golden Girls finished their regular season at 1-21 with a non-league loss to Lehigh Valley Academy (11-9). No further details were available.

ELIZABETHVILLE — Avery Miller scored 21 points and pulled down 18 rebounds in the Dawgs’ non-league loss to the Trojans on Saturday.

Jordyn Miller had five of Upper Dauphin’s 10 3-pointers and finished with 19 points for the Trojans, who used a 19-8, second-quarter spurt to take control.

FREELAND — Kelly Reiner scored a game-high 21 points but the Wreckers couldn’t hold a fourth-quarter lead in a non-league loss to the Preppers on Saturday.

Weatherly led 17-15 entering the fourth but Anna Drobnock hit a pair of 3-pointers to put MMI Prep ahead. She finished with a team-high 10 points.

TOWER CITY — Bryce Smeltz scored seven of his game-high 27 points in overtime as Line Mountain outlasted Williams Valley in a non-league game Monday night.

Brady Shomper scored a team-high 20 points and Evan Achenbach added 14 for Williams Valley, which used a 22-13 rally in the fourth quarter to force the extra session. Gabe Rodriguez scored all nine of his points in the fourth.

Smeltz scored 23 of his points after halftime.

The Vikings, who finished the regular season 9-12-1, continue their season in the District 11 Class 3A playoffs.

ALLENTOWN — Dominic Catrone paced a quartet of double-digit scorers with 23 points as the Colts finished the regular season at 11-11 with a non-league thumping Friday of Lehigh Christian Academy

Jacob De La Cruz and Rocco Griguoli each added 15 points and Greg Tirpak tallied 12 for Marian, which scored a whopping 39 points in the second quarter and led 57-25 at halftime. The Colts hit 10 3-pointers.

Jacob Lewis scored a game-high 39 points for Lehigh Christian Academy.
