Weekend Roundup: Lokitis breaks Lourdes’ blocks mark; Tide, Eagles, Bears post non-league boys’ wins

HEGINS — Hannah Lokitis recorded a triple-double and broke the Lourdes’ single-season record for blocked shots as the Red Raiders downed Tri-Valley 53-14 in a Schuylkill League Division II girls’ basketball game Saturday.
Lokitis finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks, giving the 6-foot-1 sophomore 79 blocked shots on the season. The previous record was 70 by Frances Czeponis.
Onaleigh Barnes led all scorers with 16 points and Vivian Reiprish added 13 for Lourdes, which maintained a two-game lead over Mahanoy Area for the third Schuylkill League playoff berth from Division II.

MINERSVILLE — Morgan Orsulak collected 21 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Panthers outlasted the Miners in a Schuylkill League Division I game.
Natalie Vermillion added 12 points and six assists for Panther Valley, while Ajete Gjoca shot 7-of-7 from the foul line and tallied 11 points.
The Panthers led 31-7 at halftime, but the Miners surged in the second half as Jenna Cullen scored all 13 of her points and Emma Troutman and Alayna Boom each hit three 3-pointers. Troutman finished with a team-high 15 points, while Boom tallied 12.
