ORWIGSBURG — Tom Gallagher has stepped down as the head football coach at Blue Mountain, sources have confirmed with T102 Sports Now.
Gallagher compiled a 25-18 overall record in four seasons with the Eagles, guiding Blue Mountain to three straight District 11 Class 4A playoff appearances.
After a 4-6 mark in his first season in 2021, Gallagher directed Blue Mountain to a 6-5 record in 2022, 8-3 in 2023 and 7-4 this season while competing in the big-school division of the Schuylkill/Colonial Football Cooperative. The Eagles’ 2024 campaign came to an end with a 29-28 upset home loss to Lehighton in the District 11 Class 4A quarterfinals.
The former North Schuylkill and Lebanon Valley College standout linebacker was known for his teams having a strong defense, as the Eagles ranked in the top four locally in team scoring defense the past three seasons.
