HOMETOWN — If you’re a fan of Schuylkill League boys’ basketball, Weatherly should be on your radar.

Ian McKeegan scored a game-high 22 points as Weatherly edged Marian 54-52 on Tuesday in a Schuylkill League Division II boys’ basketball game at Marian’s Jack Malarkey Gymnasium.

It marked the Wreckers’ first win over Marian in boys’ basketball since 2006.

The Colts led the Wreckers 40-39 heading to the fourth quarter after a 23-point flurry from Marian in the third. The Wreckers’ McKeegan collected five of his 22 points in the fourth, scoring five consecutive points to break a 47-47 tie and put Weatherly ahead for good. Dominic Kokinda and Corbin Wagner each added three points in the final quarter. Wagner finished with 10 points.

The win for the Wreckers gives them sole possession of the third place in Division II at 5-3, behind Tri-Valley (6-2 D-II) and Nativity (7-1 D-II). The loss for Marian bumps the Colts down to the fourth spot.
