HS Wrestling: North Schuylkill rolls past Mount Carmel

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Jaden Meyer (172) posted an 18-second fall as North Schuylkill overwhelmed Mount Carmel 76-(-1) on Tuesday in a non-league boys’ wrestling dual meet at the Cesari-Hope Gymnasium.
The Spartans (10-2) recorded nine pins, with Kaden Tavares (152), Ben Carr (160), Connor Dower (189), Cadyn McGraw (215), Sander Stokes (285), Noah Leib (133), Bryce Kile (139) and Nate Sterner (145) adding six-pointers.
Gaige Mentusky (107) earned a 15-2 major decision over Brayden Mirarck for the Spartans.
Mount Carmel (4-11) had one team point deducted for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Host Spartans win
team title at tournament
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Brock Holmes, Bode Gates and Chase Slotcavage captured individual championships to power North Schuylkill to the team title Saturday at the North Schuylkill Junior High Wrestling Tournament at the Cesari-Hope Gymnasium.
The Spartans finished first in a 21-team field with 247 points. Northern Lebanon (158) took second place, with ELCO (144.5), Tri-Valley (142.5) and Lehighton (125) rounding out the top five. Mount Carmel placed sixth with 124 points, and Northeastern finished seventh with 110. Jim Thorpe (106), Halifax (103.5) and Northwestern Lehigh (100.5) completed the top 10.
Bobby Holmes, Taylor Javier and Nelson Berger earned runner-up finishes for the Spartans. Otilio Lopez-Montz and Maxwell Kline placed third, while Bryce Leib, Damien Ems and Brian Torres finished fourth.
Braedyn Lazor, Jayden Billus and Kole Rollenhagen took fifths, and Ka’renis Holmes and Rocco Farrone placed sixth.
Girls’ Wrestling
Upper Dauphin 37, Camp Hill 36
CAMP HILL — Jada Dillard (130) posted a fall to lead Upper Dauphin past Camp Hill in a non-league dual meet.
Tri-Valley competes in a co-op with Upper Dauphin (4-0).
The teams wrestled to a 36-36 draw, but the Trojans prevailed on criteria (fewer number of forfeits, 5-1).
Camp Hill fell to 3-15.
