Blue Mountain swimmer Noah Powers

LEESPORT — Blue Mountain’s Noah Powers broke the Schuylkill Valley pool record in the 200-yard individual medley but the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season with an 89-81 defeat to the Panthers.

Powers was clocked in 1:56.65 in the 200 IM. He also placed first in the 100 backstroke and anchored the Eagles’ winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Porter Sarnes added a victory in the 500 free for Blue Mountain (6-1). Schuylkill Valley won the matchup of two of the top Class AA teams in the state by posting 11-5 event wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.

Alayna Hensel (200 free), Hailey Scheuer (diving) and Julia Crossen (500 free) added wins for Blue Mountain (6-1). Schuylkill Valley used a sweep of the 100 butterfly and victories in all three relays to pull away.
