HS Basketball Roundup: Nativity, Minersville roll to victories in league openers

POTTSVILLE — Trey Keating lit up the scoreboard for Nativity in the fourth quarter.
Keating, a junior, scored 20 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter as the Hilltoppers rolled past Schuylkill Haven 71-50 in a Schuylkill League Division II game Thursday atop Lawton’s Hill.
Jake Bowman poured in 14 points for the Hilltoppers, while Noah Dolbin chipped in 11.
For the Hurricanes, Alan Evans scored a team-high 18 points and Max Heim added 15.

Dante Carr totaled 12 points and Bradley Kostishak added 10 for Minersville.
For Blue Raiders, Cooper Ansbach had a team-high 12 points, while Noah Mateyak chipped in 10.

SHENANDOAH — Brandon Boris and David Burrous each canned 12 points as the Blue Devils used a strong second half to beat the Red Raiders in a Division II game.
Boris scored all of his points on four 3-pointers, hitting a pair of treys in a 16-9, third-quarter run that put Shenandoah Valley ahead to stay. The Blue Devils outscored Lourdes 28-12 in the second half.
Brayden Maksimik added nine and Johnny Burke eight in a balanced attack for Shenandoah Valley. Billy Rishel paced Lourdes with a game-high 13 points.
