The Schuylkill League and District 11 recently announced their girls’ volleyball all-star teams.

The Schuylkill League all-stars were broken down by division, with a Division I and Division II squad. The District 11 all-stars were selected by classification, with separate teams for Class A, 2A, 3A. Both all-star teams were chosen by participating coaches.

Pottsville’s Lainey Dusel and Marian’s Isabella Horvat were named the Players of the Year in their respective divisions.

Dusel, a senior outside hitter, was a four-year starter and team captain for the Division I and overall league champion Crimson Tide, leading the team in kills and digs. She finished her career with more than 800 career kills, 600 career digs and 150 career aces.

A junior outside hitter, Horvat compiled 154 kills, 63 aces and 223 digs for the Fillies, who won the Division II championship before being ousted by Panther Valley in the league semifinals.
