KINTNERSVILLE — It didn’t take long for Blue Mountain to take control of Friday’s Schuylkill/Colonial crossover game at Palisades.

One play.

The Eagles scored on their first play of the game and never looked back, rolling to a 63-13 victory over the Pirates. The victory leaves Blue Mountain at 5-1 overall, 4-1 in league play.

Blue Mountain hit the big play right off the bat, as Brady Strause connected with Gaige Guers for a 51-yard TD pass on the Eagles’ first play for a 7-0 lead.

The onslaught continued from there. After a turnover, Hunter Blankenhorn scored two plays later on an 8-yard run. Strause then went to the air again, hitting Bradley Renninger on a 15-yard TD pass and Guers for an 83-yard strike to put the Eagles up 28-0.

Tyler Stahley got on the board with an 11-yard TD run before Palisades (1-5, 1-4 White) took the kickoff back 78 yards for a score. The Eagles quickly regained momentum as Stahley’s 27-yard touchdown run and a 27-yard pass from Strause to Renninger made it 49-7 at intermission.

The third quarter brought much of the same for Blue Mountain as the Eagles’ JV squad took over.

After Palisades scored to make it 49-13, Cohen Kirby hit Duke Renninger for a 19-yard TD pass to make it 56-13. Brody Foose accounted for the final score with a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter.
