Girls’ Soccer

North Schuylkill 3, Pine Grove 2 — At Fountain Springs, Addie Urban and Lilah Helwig gave the Spartans scored first-half goals 14 seconds apart as North Schuylkill held on to defeat the Cardinals in a Division I contest.

The two goals gave North Schuylkill a 2-0 halftime lead. Pine Grove’s Meadow Umbenhauer sliced it to 2-1 at the 46:50 mark, but Mylee Bindie tallied a goal with 16:44 remaining to put the Spartans up 3-1. Viktorya Luckenbach scored with 11:41 remaining to make it a one-goal game, but the Cards couldn’t get the equalizer.

Maddie Moyer made seven saves in net for North Schuylkill, while Moyer had five saves for Pine Grove. Pine Grove won JV 3-0.

Blue Mountain 7, Tamaqua 0 — At Orwigsburg, Caitlyn McGhee tallied three goals and Lexi Waschko and Hailey Scherer each scored twice as the Eagles blanked the Blue Raiders in a Division I contest at the Eagles’ Nest.

Scheuer added three assists for Blue Mountain, while Kyleigh Batory, Addyson Fishburn and Waschko each collected one.

Tri-Valley 4, Minersville 0 — Cassie Snyder scored twice and had an assist as the Dawgs blanked the Miners in a Schuylkill League Division II match at Minersville.

Maggie Hoffman and Kendra Stiely added goals for Tri-Valley, which broke open a 1-0 halftime lead with three second-half goals. Madyson Schwalm stopped all six Minersville shots to notch the shutout.

Fleetwood 3, Pottsville 1 — At Fleetwood, Emma Quirin-Morris netted the Tide’s only goal off an assist by Kailey Olenick in a non-league loss to the Tigers.

Sophie Toucher scored all three goals for Fleetwood, which outshot Pottsville 8-2. Aubrey Scanlan had five saves in net for Pottsville. The Tide won JV 1-0.

Schuylkill Haven 2, Twin Valley 2 — Ava Terefencko scored the Hurricanes’ two goals as Haven battled Twin Valley to a non-league tie at Rotary Field.

Boys’ Soccer

Blue Mountain 12, Marian 0 — At Orwigsburg, Shawn Batory and Dylan Knittle each recorded three goals and three assists as the Eagles cruised past the Colts in a Division I match at the Eagles’ Nest.

Drew Waschko scored twice for Blue Mountain, while Owen Gretsky, Connor Troutman, Saul Recinos and Raf Liranzo also found the back of the net. The Eagles outshot Marian 17-1, with Anthony Self making eight saves for the Colts.

Girls’ Volleyball

Upper Dauphin 3, Minersville 1 — Hailey Croley collected five kills, three blocks and seven digs as the Miners dropped a non-league contest to the Trojans 25-27, 26-24, 25-18, 25-15.

Ayla Castle added two aces and five assists for Minersville, while Arianna John had four blocks and two digs. Kate Rothermel notched 11 kills and three aces, Addisyn Forney had eight kills and five aces and Ella Griffiths notched six kills, 12 aces and five digs for Upper Dauphin. The Trojans won JV 2-1.

Tamaqua 3, Catasauqua 0 — Leah Crowley served 10 aces and Millie Black collected 10 kills as the Blue Raiders swept the visiting Rough Riders 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 in a non-league match.

Madison Schock added seven assists and nine aces for Tamaqua. The Raiders won JV 2-1.

Girls’ Tennis

Moravian Academy 4, Blue Mountain 1 — Friday, in girls’ tennis, Moravian Academy defeated Blue Mountain 4-1. No individual results were provided.
