Boys’ Soccer

North Schuylkill 6, Pottsville 0 — At Fountain Springs, Zack Marcinowski had three goals and an assist as the Spartans shut out the Crimson Tide in a Schuylkill League Division I match.

Marcinowski scored in the 43rd minute, 47th minute and 63rd minute. Fabrizio Manganiello (7th minute), Wesley Urban (50th minute) and Evan Damiter (71st minute) also scored for North Schuylkill (1-0, 1-0 D-I).

Kaden Onuschak pitched the shutout in goal, stopping all 11 Pottsville shots. Austin Strokelitus made six saves for Pottsville (0-1, 0-1 D-I).

Williams Valley 6, Weatherly 3 — At Weatherly, Cody Boehmer and Ethan Lebo each scored a pair of second-half goals as the Vikings (1-0, 1-0 D-II) overcame a 3-2 halftime deficit to defeat the Wreckers in a Schuylkill League Division II contest.

Boehmer and Lebo each finished with three goals for Williams Valley. Corbin Wagner scored all three goals for Weatherly. The Vikings outshot the Wreckers 17-9, with Owen Mace stopping six shots for Williams Valley and Michael Davies making 11 saves for Weatherly (0-1, 0-1).

Shenandoah Valley 9, Tri-Valley 1 — At Shenandoah, A. Zamudio scored four times and J. Menjivar added three tallies as the Blue Devils (2-0, 1-0 D-II) cruised past the Bulldogs (0-1, 0-1) in a Schuylkill League Division II match. Sam Mentusky notched the other two goals for Shenandoah Valley, which led 4-0 at half and outshot Tri-Valley 23-1. Truman Hilliard converted an assist from Lukas Ruch for Tri-Valley’s lone goal.

In other action Monday, Minersville defeated Schuylkill Haven 5-4, Pine Grove edged Blue Mountain 2-1 and Lourdes and Tamaqua battled to a 1-1 tie.

Girls’ Soccer

Tri-Valley 6, Tamaqua 4 — At Hegins, Cassie Snyder notched a hat trick as the Dawgs held off the Blue Raiders in a non-league match. Maggie Hoffman-Long, Kendra Stiely and Joyce Burian also scored for Tri-Valley (1-0), which led 5-1 at halftime and outshot Tamaqua 16-11.

Kim Rudy scored three goals for Tamaqua (0-2), while Sienna Stellfox added the other. Madyson Schwalm made seven saves in goal for Tri-Valley, while Tamaqua’s Veronica Scott stopped six shots.

Northwestern Lehigh 4, Blue Mountain 0 — At Orwigsburg, Katie Katerman made seven saves as the Eagles (1-1) were shut out by the Tigers (3-0) in a non-league contest. Paige Bissell scored twice for Northwestern Lehigh.
