Tri-Valley 36, York Catholic 16

YORK — A quick start helped Tri-Valley turn a long Week 1 road trip into a worthwhile one.

Freshman Parker Hatter rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs downed York Catholic 36-16 in a non-league game Friday night.

Tri-Valley’s Blake Schwartz threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Dawgs downed York Catholic 36-16 on Friday night.

Blake Schwartz passed for 86 yards and two scores and rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown as Tri-Valley tallied 22 first-quarter points and didn’t look back.

Max Masser had two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown, while Lucas Schwartz hauled in a 4-yard TD pass. The Dawgs led 22-9 at halftime before adding a touchdown in each of the final two frames.

Northern Lebanon 10, Pine Grove 0

FREDERICKSBURG — Myles Watson rushed 27 times for 200 yards and the game’s lone touchdown as the Vikings blanked the Cardinals in a non-league contest.

Northern Lebanon scored all 10 of its points in the fourth quarter. Brendan Ryan had a pair of interceptions for the Vikings.

Wyatt Dixon completed 3-of-11 passes for 49 yards for Pine Grove, while sophomore Logan Troup led the rushing attack with 17 carries for 32 yards. The Cardinals were held to 75 yards of total offense. Brayden Lyons had an interception for the Cards.

Catasauqua 47, Mahanoy Area 34

CATASAUQUA — Manny Bolmer scored five first-half touchdowns as the Rough Riders outlasted the Golden Bears in a season-opening shootout, giving new coach Joe Henrich his first win at Catasauqua.

Mahanoy Area hung tough, scoring a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to make it 40-34 with 8:35 left, but Catty scored again with 2:52 remaining to ice it.
